The pickup chosen for the '58 LP Junior Double Cut is the Gibson Custom Shop chooses a Custom Dog-Ear P-90 single coil pickup, whose black cap is screwed to the body via the characteristic "dog ears". Thanks to the design, which is clearly based on the historical models, the single coil placed on the bridge impresses with an authentic vintage sound that combines a direct dynamic response with a strongly represented mid-range spectrum and is therefore ideal for the clean and distorted sounds of classic blues and rock styles. In addition, volume and tone controls in the form of high-quality CTS Audio taper pots and an authentic paper-in-oil capacitor allow the tone colour to be adjusted.
