After laborious planning and research for the development of a new and flexible guitar model of the Core Series, the renowned guitar maker from Maryland is presenting the Private Stock PRS McCarty 594 . From the pickup equipment to the saddle material, Paul analyzed the individual components of the instrument in order to design an electric guitar that was as resonant and versatile as possible. The PRS McCarty Singlecut 594 Fire Red Burst with the gold scale of 24.594" combines the magic of classic Vintage instruments with modern features and convinces with adapted 58/15 LT humbuckers with coil tap function, revised Phase III tuners and the new Pattern Vintage neck profile.
Those who know the classic Pattern profile of the PRS instruments will feel at home: The new " Pattern Vintage " profile adopts the classic aspects of the popular shaping and gets a bit more wood behind the fingerboard and a slightly asymmetrical cut. Accordingly, the bass side of the neck is slightly thicker, while the underside is narrower and cuts a fine figure in both the 'baseball glove' of the blues and the classical posture.
Of course, the McCarty Singlecut 594 also impresses optically with a breathtakingly grained and two-piece laminated curly maple top on a body of mahogany. The ceiling with accurate bookmatching is finished with an elaborate natural binding of the ceiling wood, while the light blue Fire Red Burst finish skilfully highlights contrasts of flame and grain.
The still young 58/15 Humbucker has meanwhile become an important component of the distinctive PRS sound and relies on the company's 30 years of experience. The McCarty 594 first Standard Treble and Bass Pickups in the Low Turn version with a lower number of windings on both coils were used in 1985, in order to guarantee a balanced output and a good balance between Neck and Bridge between the individual coils. Both pickups can be switched separately via push/pull tone potentiometers into the coil tap mode for clear Single Coil sounds.
With the Phase III mechanics in the Tweaked version the team around Paul Reed Smith presents the youngest generation more openly Locking - Tuner . The Tweaked Phase III Tuner has been supplemented with a further screw which pulls the gear and worm together and allows a more direct resonance transmission of the string into Instrument the string. Otherwise, the tuners work like the previous Phase III Tuner tuners when changing strings and tuning.
