The Roswell QPA P-Bass Split Coil features extra-large pole Pieces for additional focus on the low midrange and bass. This provides a broader tonal spectrum with the tonal qualities of a humbucker without denying the classic split coil character. The Roswell QPA is particularly suitable for use with the Roswell JBA-B in the bar position.
This is the real deal, arrives in a tidy little box with the fitting screws and pickups. Very nice.
The pickups are near impossible to tell from pickups they were obviously modelled after. The output seems incrementally lower but honestly this is probably for the best.
I cannot recommend them enough, got them for recording and they sound absolutely huge.
Handle modern metal extremely well. My P-bass now sounds like an angry whale, summoned through some kind of hellish void. 100% fantastic pups.
First of all, the presentation of the pickup deserves a mention. It comes in a smart box with the pickup itself in a fabric bag. Included are all the fittings, a pick and a sticker. This is unexpected at this price point, well done Roswell.
Once installed the QPA reveals a nice thick bottom end and gentle highs, not too harsh. There's a good deal of output too. It retains a vintage like character, just much thicker and louder. The only minor gripe is that the pole pieces are raised above the covers by about 2mm so you need to account for this when setting your pickup height. Heavy handed players might need to modify their technique.
All in all though this is an excellent pickup for very little money. It certainly compares with the pickup which may or may not have inspired it, but for a fraction of the price. I would definitely recommend this.
