The Steinberg UR44C is the perfect balance between connectivity and portability, as the USB 3.0 USB audio interface not only has enough inputs and outputs, a DSP processor and various useful features, but is also robust and compatible with Windows, MacOS and iOS devices. So it can be used not only as a desktop interface in the studio or at home, but also on the road.
Four analog XLR/jack combo inputs equipped with Class-A D-PRE mic preamps and +48 V phantom power ensure low-noise recording, while the 32-bit integer / 192 kHz converters allow for great detail and ample headroom. Two of the channels are also Hi-Z inputs, allowing you to record vocals and acoustic instruments as well as electric guitars directly without distortion. Furthermore, the robust interface offers two additional line inputs, four line outputs and two main outs - enough choice for a wide variety of routing possibilities.
Not to mention latency-free, DSP-supported monitoring with REV-X reverb, Channel Strip and Guitar Amp Classics - in other words, you even benefit from a small software bundle that you can use directly in your productions. This also includes the Cubase AI and LE download license.
In general, the UR44C hardware unit is USB 2.0 powered with a power adapter ( USB-C power only possible with correspondingne jacks), while a USB Type-C to USB Type-A 3.1 Gen 1 cable has been included for connection and data exchange with your computer/Mac/iPad.

Upgraded to this from an ancient M-Audio PCI card interface, and it is a big improvement. I use Cubase as a DAW, and so this was the obvious choice. It is easy to set up, Integrate and use and the sound is very good indeed. There are a couple of small software glitches and inconsistencies to get used to, but I have found easy workarounds for these. Service from DV247/MusicStore was fast and efficient, especially considering Coronavirus issues; it arrived in 3 days from Germany. The only issue was that a UK mains adapter was not included in the package as it should have been, but a quick call to the UK based customer line has resulted in one being placed in the post for me.
Best I’ve used in any studio., 32 bit is great no more level worries, as it can all be altered later if needed with perfection. My fav purchase this year.
Only negative was dv247 sent the European 2 pin adapter ( as usual) so yet again I’ll have to ask for a Scottish plug. But then it works fine with just usb c…….
Delivery was Excellent
Out of the box the I was disappointed that it only came with a Euro 2 pin power supply :(
Software download and licencing was a little over complicated but ok. Setting up the interface with Cubase AI should have been easy but the supplied manual dose not go through the correct steps for the version latest version of cubase downloaded so you have to then download the latest manual to configure it correctly took 2hrs from opening the box to recording some audio. :(
I looks like a well made product and the sound quality is excellent, but if your new to Cubase expect to sit down with the manual and do some reading. Its not Plug & Play..
