The Akai MPC Live II is a professional standalone sampling workstation with a 7 inch full color multi touch display and runs without computer connection. It has the familiar workflow of the MPC series, and its functions and features are emphatically results-oriented. With its trend-setting performance possibilities together with the seamlessly integrated MPC software, it becomes the central tool on stage and in the studio. A new addition in Version II is the built-in stereo speaker, which, together with the rechargeable battery that allows up to five hours of mains-independent operation, is predestined for use outside the studio environment. This means that you can comfortably record and work out new ideas on the couch, on the balcony or even in the park, even without headphones. In addition, the possibility was created to install an SSD hard drive with a few simple steps and thus significantly increase the internal memory. Thanks to Wifi and Bluetooth, it can be connected wirelessly with external equipment.
Control in high resolution
From the heart of the Akai Professional MPC Live II shines a 7-inch full-color, multi-touch display. Editing MIDI events, adding effects, editing step sequences, arranging, sampling and much more can be done in an intuitive way.
Illuminated Pads
The velocity-sensitive pads are used to play notes into the sequencer and trigger the sounds. For an even better overview, the pads are backlit in RGB colors. Of course, a MIDI/USB master keyboard can also be connected for playing.
Akai Professional MPC Live II & Modular systems
Eight freely configurable CV/Gate outputs allow the connection between the MPC Live II and a modular system. Also other synthesizers, which have CV/Gate inputs, can be controlled by the MPC Live II in this way.
Memory capacity
The Akai MPC Live II offers an internal memory capacity of 16 GB ex works; likewise, 16 GB of sample content is already included in the memory! The size of the RAM is 2 GB. Additional samples can be stored on an SD card (medium not included). As further interfaces two USB 2.0 slots for external hard disks, or the connection with MIDI controllers are available. In addition, there is a flap on the bottom of the device, under which an SSD hard drive can be installed with a few simple steps.
PlugIn Synthesizer
The Akai MPC Live II includes the three powerful plug-in synthesizers TUBESYNTH, BASSLINE and ELECTRIC, which can be used as full-fledged instruments without a necessary computer connection:
TubeSynth emulates the sound of classic analog polysynths with analog modeling technology, combined with 5 integrated AIR effects. The synthesizer contains all the important parameters and is detailed to match the MPC's user interface. The layout has been adapted to ensure convenient control via the Q-Link knobs. Tubesynth is equipped with an extensive collection of preset sounds including wide floating pad sounds, hard plucks, vibrating basses and expressive lead sounds.
Bassline emulates the sound of classic vintage mono synthesizers. Also included are four AIR effects and two distortion algorithms.
Electric emulates the sound of classic electric pianos.
OS 2.8 already installed
With advanced routing capabilities, various hardware inputs and outputs are linked together and merge into one large, complex instrument. With multitrack recording, everything in the MPC now combines to become the primary production and studio tool. In addition, Timing Correct, self-selected note assignment for different program types, Retrospective Record (recording MIDI notes and data in the background), Q-Link Overlay (better visual feedback of the knobs in the display) and workflow improvements have been integrated in the new OS.

This has almost got rid of the need for a computer and DAW. An absolute astounding piece of kit. Good build quality. Great speakers and battery and extremely innovative. Worth every penny.
Great bit of kit, just what I needed to get away from PC based DAWs, lets me sample, drive my midi gear. And guess what? You can make any kind of music with this beast! Not just hip hop!
Just received my mpc live 2 from these guys, excellent service on the phone to explain the product and methods to pay... and also first class quick delivery even though they said it was coming from Germany..new to the mpc world so looking forward to mastering this new toy of mine
Very good service and prompt delivery, especially considering the lockdown situation and that the product was shipped (unexpectedly) from Germany. DV247 handled all Brexit related fees and removed any of the bureaucracy from the customs process. Only problem is that product shipped with a European power cable but easily remedied and still £100 cheaper than other UK based retailers.
