The Adam S5H Main Studio Monitor (Single) features two 10" woofers, a total power rating of 1800W RMS across a frequency range of 24Hz-50kHz. The S5H is a powerful monitor custom-designed for reference listening in expansive studios and control rooms. The three-way S5H is designed to be used in a horizontal orientation and comes equipped with two 10" Extended Linear Excursion (ELE) bass drivers. These woofers feature the proprietary Symmetrical Magnet Assembly (SMA) guaranteeing that low-frequency audio remains controlled and distortion-free. The midrange frequencies are handled by the hybrid DCH, which is an innovative 4" MF driver that combines the sonic advantages of cone and dome drivers in a single unit.
Together with the S-ART tweeter, this monitor produces a powerful sound, with a huge amount of depth. The off-axis responses of the treble and mid drivers remain accurate thanks to high- and mid-frequency waveguides milled from solid aluminium. The custom-designed DSP optimises loudspeaker crossovers to create linear responses for the whole range, and provides user equalisation and in-room tuning/voicing functions. The DSP also handles the limiter-based high-frequency driver protection and processes the signals from the AES3 digital inputs. Four separate amplifiers power the drivers with a 700W Class-D design for each of the bass drivers, a 300W Class-D for the midrange and a 100W Class A/B unit for the tweeter.
