The Fusion System II from Erica Synths is a pre-configured modular system that stands out sonically like no other. The system is perfect for massive drone sounds and synthesizer sounds from a time long before ICs and transistors became fashionable. The extremely charismatic basic sound is thanks to the tube technology used. The tube sound is characterized by certain inaccuracies, which one accepts gladly, however, also because no other circuitry delivers this organic and above all independent sound without tubes. With the exception of the Fusion Modulator, all modules included in the system feature a hand-selected tube that takes over a specific functional area depending on the module. The six carefully selected modules are pre-installed in a 104HP skiff case, ready for immediate use thanks to the 20 patch cords included. The included cover with transport handle allows storage and transport with plugged cables when the lid is closed.
The functions of the Fusion System II
Fusion VCO2: Tube oscillator with three waveforms and sub-oscillator.
Fusion VCF3: 24dB lowpass filter with combined tube and vactrol technology and CV recorder
Fusion Modulator: includes two EMS trapezoidal envelopes, two VCAs, noise generator and an open sample & hold function
Fusion VCA/WS/RM: Pentode-based module contains an audio VCA with crossfader at the input, a distortion/waveshaper at the output and an open loop ring modulator
Fusion Delay/Flanger: BBD-based circuitry that creates delay, flanger and chorus effects
