The Evans Heavyweight Coated Snare 14" is a replacement Coated Snare Drum Skin, 14"
The heavyweight snare and bass drum heads are made with two films with a thickness of 10 mils, and are therefore the strongest and most durable skins made by Evans. Due to the two-layer construction with two equally powerful films of the heavyweight skins, they produce a very powerful and dark sound, which develops tremendous power especially in the low frequencies. A distinct, compressed attack and a short sustain make the heavyweight skins ideal for loud and hard styles such as rock and metal.
The heavyweight EMAD skins come with two different damping rings made of foam, which are attached to the outside of the coat. This promises a perfect damping of the boiler without additional damping material such as pillows or the like.
All Evans heads feature the Level 360 Collar. This collar ensures a balanced contact around the bearing edge of the shell, making tuning an absolute breeze and enhancing the sound quality by allowing the head to better resonate though out your drum shell.
