COBALT8 Sound Demos
The Cobalt8X from Modal Electronics is an eight-voice virtual analog synthesizer with a velocity-sensitive TP9/S 61-key keyboard from Fatar. The synthesis is based on 34 different algorithms, which can generate more complex waveforms in addition to classic waveforms such as sine, pulse, triangle and sawtooth. The resonating four-pole ladder filter can be freely morphed using four different filter types. The built-in polyphonic sequencer and arpeggiator, as well as the built-in DSP effects give the Cobalt8X ad hoc a lively character.

Filter
Four-pole, morphable ladder filter with resonance and four switchable configurations. The Cutoff frequency is controlled by the large endless potentiometer, which allows a precise and sensitive adjustment of the filter. Below that are the controls for resonance and for morphing, which allows for stepless crossfading between four different filter characteristics (morphing). This function, in combination with the complex oscillators, allows for the creation of remarkably abstract sounds, which predestines Modal Electronics Cobalt8X for sound design.
Modulation
Three dedicated envelope generators for AMP, MOD and FILTER that can be accessed independently or simultaneously, including negative (inverted) versions for MOD and FILTER ENVs. Three audio LFOs with tempo sync (two poly, one global) with seven different waveforms. Eight assignable modulation slots plus four fixed modulation routings for a total of 12 modulation sources and 55 modulation destinations.
Sequencer and Arpeggiator
