Thanks to wide cutaways and a rounded neck base, the roasted maple neck of the JP160 RW can be played up to the highest registers without any problems.
Roasted Maple Neck and high playing comfort
The most striking feature of the Sterling by Music Man JP160 RW is undoubtedly the five-bolt neck made of thermally treated maple. By "baking" the neck blank, Roasted Maple loses a large part of its residual moisture, which makes the wood more stable and insensitive to climatic fluctuations. Thanks to the flat D-profile and the matte back, the neck also provides the perfect foundation for virtuoso electric guitar playing, which is supported by the pronounced forearm contour of the mahogany body.
Two powerful humbuckers with switchable boost provide extremely hot metal sounds with perfect tone definition.
Humbucker pickups with active boost
The pickups on the SBMM John Petrucci JP160 RW are two hot humbuckers, whose precisely defined sound sets virtuoso solos just as skilfully in scene as tight riffs and clean played melodies or arpeggios. Furthermore, the electric guitar offers an active boost, which increases the signal and 12 dB, thus releasing additional volume and gain reserves.
Die-cast tuners in typical "4+2" arrangement provide precise tuning.
Double-Locking Tremolo
Last but not least, the SBMM JP160 is a real shredder guitar with a double-locking tremolo that can perform even the most violent whammy bar acrobatics with dive bombs and squeals without the electric guitar going out of tune. The small headstock with its typical "4+2" design also features die-cast tuners for precise tuning of the John Petrucci JP160 RW Toluca Lake Blue by Sterling by Music Man.
