Tiptop Audio Mariana Trench is an effect card with different Feedback Delay Network algorithms(FDN), which specifically address the strengths of the Tiptop Audio Z-DSP and are tailored to electronic music. FDNs are built around several delays which are connected to each other thanks to a feedback matrix. They are known for their stability and loss-free properties. They can mimic the recursive process of sound waves in acoustic space and were developed in the 1970s and 1980s for artificial reverberation. In addition, FDN can be regarded as a special form of digital waveguide. In the case of the Mariana Trench Cartridge, the focus is more on the use as a waveguide.
