The Nifty Bundle from Cre8audio is a compact Eurorack system that provides the user with plenty of space for his own equipment. Equipped with a high-performance power supply, a total of 84 HP space for modules, the duophonic MIDI interface and the audio summerizer, the case itself is a great addition to existing setups or the all-round carefree solution for beginners.
The Nifty Bundle includes the dual CV controller CELLZ, which can be used as a sequencer, but also as a variable voltage source. This also includes the digital double oscillator CHIPZ, which tends to sound like an arcade console and even has an LFO with five waveforms on board. The bundle is rounded off with two 30 TE dummy plates with Cre8audio logo and six colour-assorted patch cables, which are included in pairs of 45cm, 35cm and 20cm.
This really is a bit of a bargain. The case itself is excellent, nicely made and with built in power and midi/usb you can integrate into the rest of your music making kit with ease. The modules are quirky but very flexible and it’s easy to lose many hours playing with them. They are a little bit to unpredictable for me, but I’m an ageing hippy looking for big smooth sounds, your mileage may differ. But for the price and the ability to have instant modular fun it’s unbeatable.
I bought this on a whim and couldn't be happier with it.
The build quality is excellent for the money and the case has some really useful functions you wouldn't get on other brand cases out-of-the-box. The Chipz module sounds are very digital (as you'd expect from a chiptune-oriented module) but extremely flexible; blendable waveshapes and a dual-rate LFO to boot! The Cellz module is a neat sequencer-slash-controller that takes a bit of getting to grips with but is equally as flexible as Chipz once you've gotten it sussed. You could easily start making interesting music with just these two modules as a starting point.
This is a smashing jumping off point for any budding modular enthusiast.
Perfect and fit construction combined with smart and helpfully solutions for modern musicmakers.
Perfect choice if you want to combine your Daw with a minimum 84 hp modular goodies.(Direct connection for midi channel 1 and midi channel 2 via usb or serial midi + mod, clock output, and a dedicated output for your sound system...so actually 4 modules arriving for this price...well done.)
(I give 5 stars for Musicstore as well, cause they do a very customer oriented services.)
