The sE Electronics DM2 T.N.T is an active inline preamplifier. Compared to its little brother, the DM1, it offers switchable amplification from a moderate 15dB to an explosive 30dB and even less noise. Thanks to the variable input load, it gets the best out of the existing microphone.
The preamplifier is predestined for microphones that only have a low output level due to their design. This is particularly the case with large-diaphragm dynamic microphones such as the SM7B or RE 20, or ribbon microphones such as the M160 or R-10. As many microphone preamps do not provide sufficient gain for such microphones, the DM2 T.N.T is a good alternative to buying a new preamp with the appropriate gain reserves.
The DM2 delivers a very low-noise and true-to-life signal. Of course, every link in the signal chain is always associated with some losses, but here sE Electronics has actually managed to bring a product onto the market that reduces signal losses to a minimum. So you get your additional gain without losing the special features of the microphone in question.
