Akai Professional MPC Live II Retro Edition at a glance
The MPC Live II Retro Edition is a professional standalone sampling workstation with a 7 inch full color multi touch display and runs without a computer connection. It has the well-known workflow of the MPC series and its functions and features are emphatically result-oriented. With its trend-setting performance possibilities together with the seamlessly integrated MPC software, it becomes the central tool on stage and in the studio. A new addition in Version II is the built-in stereo speaker, which, together with the rechargeable battery that allows up to five hours of mains-independent operation, is predestined for use outside the studio environment. This means that you can comfortably record and work out new ideas on the couch, on the balcony or even in the park, even without headphones. In addition, the possibility was created to install an SSD hard drive with a few simple steps and thus significantly increase the internal memory. Thanks to Wifi and Bluetooth wireless connection with external equipment.
Control in high resolution
From the heart of the Akai Professional MPC Live II shines a 7-inch full-color, multi-touch display. Editing MIDI events, adding effects, editing step sequences, arranging, sampling and much more can be done in an intuitive way.
Illuminated pads
The velocity sensitive pads are used to play notes into the sequencer and trigger the sounds. For an even better overview, the pads are backlit in RGB colors. Of course, a MIDI/USB master keyboard can also be connected for playing in.
Akai Professional MPC Live II & Modular Systems
Eight freely configurable CV/Gate outputs allow the connection between the MPC Live 2 Retro and a modular system. Also other synthesizers, which have CV/Gate inputs, can be controlled in this way by the MPC Live II Retro Edition.
Memory capacity
The Akai MPC Live 2 Retro offers an internal memory capacity of 16 GB ex works; likewise, 16 GB Sample Content are already included in the memory! The size of the working memory is 2 GB RAM. Additional samples can be stored on an SD card (medium not included). As further interfaces, two USB 2.0 slots for external hard drives, or the connection with MIDI controllers are available. In addition, there is a flap on the bottom of the device, under which an SSD hard drive can be installed in a few simple steps.
PlugIn Synthesizer
The Akai MPC Live II Retro Edition includes the three powerful PlugIn Synthesizers TUBESYNTH, BASSLINE and ELECTRIC, which can be used as full-fledged instruments without a necessary computer connection:
TubeSynth emulates the sound of classic analog polysynths with Analog-Modeling technology, combined with 5 integrated AIR effects. The synthesizer contains all important parameters and is detailed to the user interface of the MPC. The layout has been adapted to ensure convenient control via the Q-Link knobs. Tubesynth is equipped with an extensive collection of Preset sounds including wide floating pad sounds, hard plucks, vibrating basses and expressive lead sounds.
Bassline emulates the sound of classic Vintage mono synthesizers. Also includes four AIR effects and two Distortion algorithms.
Electric emulates the sound of classic electric pianos.
drum synth (8 synthesis models for custom drum sounds)
OS 2.8 already installed
With advanced routing capabilities, various Hardware inputs and outputs are linked together and merge into one large, complex instrument. With multitrack recording, everything in the MPC now combines to become the primary production and studio tool. In addition, the features Timing Correct, self-selected note assignment for different program types, Retrospective Record (recording MIDI notes and data in the background), Q-Link Overlay (better visual Feedback of the knob in the display) and workflow improvements have been integrated in the new or.
New or update with drum synthesizer
With the MPC update 2.9 a new killer feature has been added! With DRUMSYNTH you can build your own Drum sounds in eight individual engines (kick, snare, clap, percussion, tom, crash, hi-hat and ride) using FM synthesis, Analog- & Physical Modelling as well as sample-based algorithms to your heart's content and enhance them with effects like eg. Transient Shaper, EQ or Delay. In multi mode you can access all eight engines at the same time, ideal for expressive performances! Custom sounds can be saved as user presets.
