When designing the LTD MH-1000 BaritoneBlack Satin, ESP not only focuses on the dignified heavy metal look, but also pays special attention to a tight sound and agile playing characteristics. To ensure a tight string tension and matching razor-sharp articulation even with drop tunings, the neck-through construction of the guitar relies on an extra-long 27" baritone scale (686 mm). While the mahogany body's manageable dimensions and curved maple top guarantee comfortable handling of the guitar, the "Extra Thin and Maple Neck" that blends smoothly into the body allows best advanced playing techniques to come off with ease. The Macassar ebony fingerboard also carries 24 virtually wear-free stainless steel frets in extra jumbo format, on which even the widest bendings glide as if on rails.

In neck position, the EMG 60TW-R with ceramic magnets promises not only precisely articulated yet full cleans and a fluid Overdrive for endless solos, but thanks to the coil-split option also particularly glassy single-coil tones without unwanted noise. In the bridge position, the EMG 81 is the established benchmark for brute metal sounds since 1979. Thanks to the razor-sharp midrange focus and the tight Attack the ceramic pickup presents every note with accurate contour even at drop tunings and maximum distortion, while the well-measured toxicity of the treble provides enormous assertiveness. The two pickups of the LTD MH-1000 Baritone are also controlled straightforwardly by means of 3-way switches and general volume and tone pots.
