Traditional alder, maple and rosewood construction.
For the construction of the Fender '63 Stratocaster, the proven combination of an alder body, a bolt-onmaple neck and an additional rosewood fingerboard is used to best represent the basic tonal character of the model. The maple neck features a historically accurate Early '60s C-profile and carries the rosewood fingerboard with 21 frets in narrow-tall format, which conveys classic Fender feeling and allows carefree playability in all positions.
Three single coils wound according to specifications of the early sixties provide full and multi-faceted Strat sounds.
Handwound '60s Single Coils from the Custom Shop
On the other hand, the three hand-wound Custom Shop '60s Single Coils in neck, middle and bridge position provide the right sounds at the amplifier. The classically wired and traditionally wound pickups produce all imaginable Strat sounds from flashy, loud bridge tones to the dry and direct mid pickup to warm and vocal neck sounds. Of course, the 5-way pickup selector switch also provides access to classic pearly sounds from the intermediate positions 2 and 4.
The hardware features of the Fender '63 Stratocaster Heavy Relic RW Surf Green #R132998 are also in classic vintage style.
Vintage style hardware
The Hardware is also oriented to the contemporary equipment of the early sixties and holds a synchronized American Vintage tremolo with six string riders for each string and multiple adjustment options. Completing the Hardware are six vintage-style tuners. Last but not least, the Surf Green nitrocellulose finish provides the faithful look of today's original instruments of the era thanks to artificial heavy-relic treatment with strong signs of wear in the usual places.
