With the new Montecito Tenor Ukulele, Fender expands its wide range of products by a chic instrument made of the finest materials producing an incomparable sound. In order to create this warm and clear sound, the manufacturer uses solid Koa wood, which over the years develops its sound continuously and gains in balance and volume. Thanks to a thin finish, the solid top can vibrate freely, resulting in a quick response, which is gently enhanced by the lightweight construction of the laminated Koa body. A flat nato neck with a walnut fingerboard ensures pleasant playability and, combined with 35 mm nut width and a 432 mm scale length, allows perfect access to all 19 frets. Elaborate abalone bindings and an abalone soundhole rosette, which with its blue-green reflections accentuate the fine koa wood in a very aesthetic way, complete the visual appearance. The instrument comes in a sturdy fender bag.
The products were well packed and arrived on time. The instrument is a lovely looking uke. Having just received it I am still tweaking the tuning every day so it is taking time for the instrument to be steady tuning wise. As a beginner I was disappointed that there was no mention of tuning the uke, the instrument was way of tune and I admit I was scared to keep on turning the tuning keys but I persisted and eventually the instrument did tune in and as I have mentioned I still have to significantly tune the uke in before my practise session (I play for an hour 5 /6 times a week).
