The Gibson Songwriter Cutaway Rosewood Burst is the fundamental version of the Square Shoulder Dreadnought, which was introduced in 2003 and has become extremely popular. This versatile Gibson acoustic guitar is an all-rounder in all areas thanks to its solid top made of sitka spruce and a body made of East Indian rosewood. With a Fishman Prefix Plus-T pickup it is perfect for the stage, the studio and of course the couch.
The classic wood combination of sides and back made of solid East Indian rosewood, combined with a solid Sitka spruce top, provides a very balanced sound. Present in the highs, mids and represented by powerful basses, the Songwriter by no means lacks projection or assertiveness.
The cutaway makes it particularly easy to play in the higher positions, whereas the compensated saddle made of Graph Tech TUSQ provides clean intonation and a flat string action. Last but not least the Gibson Songwriter comes with a case.
This guitar is something that words aren't enough to describe.
It plays like a dream and you can see how high end material it's made of.
And the hard case looks fantastic.
I own this guitar, excellent sound, great looking guitar BUT there is big problem that Fishman pickup causes bad vibration, because space in cut where is installed is bigger than Fish.pickup system. Due to this fact is there bad resonance specially on string E and A and you have to fix it with screws or put there piece of rubber to stop these vibration(cheap solutions). For me personally, Gibson with Fishmann Sonitone is not good cooperation and connection
