With the Hagstrom Three Kings Super Swede Limited Edition , the traditional guitar company presents a unique Singlecut electric guitar that combines Sweden's royal heritage with aesthetic design and outstanding sound. The guitar has a classic construction with a mahogany body and neck, which are complemented by the H-neck Expander rod, pickups developed by Johan Lundgren and GraphTech Ratio tuners. The unique finish with its shimmering silver heraldic pattern and inlaid medallion of Tre Kronor Castle also impresses with its simple elegance.
The basis of the Hagstrom Three Kings Super Swede is a classic construction with mahogany for the body and the glued neck, while the top is made of maple. In combination with the 25.5" scale (648 mm), this promises a warm primary tone with long sustain and tight tone development, which provides the perfect basis for both classical and modern styles. Thanks to the H- Expander tension rod, the neck has a particularly slim "C"-profile, which allows every riff and solo to go unhindered out of hand when playing the electric guitar. In addition, the Hagstrom Super Swede is equipped with a fingerboard made of Resinator Wood a composite material with a uniform structure that prevents deadspots across all 22 frets and also impresses with its high stability against climatic fluctuations.
For the development of the pickups of the Hagstrom Three Kings Super Swede we collaborated Hagstrom with the Swedish pickup Papst Johan Lundgren whose creations enjoy an excellent reputation worldwide due to their outstanding sound. Thanks to the Alnico magnets on the Lundgren Design neck No. 2 and the Lundgren Design No. 5 bridge, the guitar convinces with a harmonious sound whose distinct warmth reminds of the golden era of the electric guitar. At the same time, both Humbucker have a precise representation of each note played, so that they can be used both in classical a Clean nd blues music, but also in modern Rock music. In addition, both Humbucker can be split for authentic Single Coil sounds. For control there are beside the 3-way toggle switch individual volume and tone controls, which are decorated by chic Q-Parts Dome buttons with "Vine" pattern.
The equipment of the Hagstrom Three Kings Super Swede is completed by perfectly tuned Hardware . The strings are held on the body by the well-known Hagstrom Stop Tail, which consists of six string Messing holders on a base plate of acrylic glass and a curved cover. From there, the strings run over a classic Tune -O-Matic bridge, which guarantees perfect adjustment of string position and intonation thanks to the wide adjustment ranges. At the headstock the strings are led via the GraphTech Black Tusq XL saddle to the innovative GraphTech Ratio tuners. These have their own translation for each string, so that a particularly precise tuning is possible. In addition, the machine heads have decorative wings in the typical Hagstrom stepped design.

Hagstrom Three Kings Super Swede Limited Edition Black GlossFor those who are curious, the three king super swede is made in Indonesia as stamped at the back of the headstock. In overall, it looks beautiful, sounds great and plays nicely. I am however a bit disappointed with a few details:
- the high e string sounds much quieter than the other strings
- tone knobs have some play
- 3 of the 4 screws holding the jack plate are placed at the wrong angle, protruding their edge from the otherwise smooth surface.
- the upper side of a few high frets on the body is a bit rough (cost cutting maybe)
- their is a dot mark on the highest fret
I hope to find a fix for the first 2 issues but probably have to live with the others. Shipping is super fast and it comes with a gig bag, a leather strap and a cleaning cloth. Extra large strap is too big for me and there should be an option for customers to specify what they want. Strap locks on the gig bag could not hold together due to poor craftsmanship and quality control and that almost results in dropping the guitar. Luckily the 2 strap locks did not give up at the same time. Solution: hammering the metal ring to narrow the inner space to make it hold the other parts of the strap locks more securely, but I am still nervous and may replace them with something better soon.
