With Panorama CS12, Nektar presents the result of years of experience and development in the field of DAW controllers. As a new addition to the Nektar family, the CS12 channel strip controller quickly becomes indispensable for controlling the mixer channel of a DAW and plug-ins.
Once 'Select' is activated, the high-resolution motorized 100mm fader and 360-degree potentiometer control each selected plug-in parameter of the channel - simply click on
and control. Dedicated illuminated buttons are available for pan, arm, solo and mute.
The 18 hardware buttons on the transport panel are assigned to the functions DAW transport, channel selection, timeline/loop parameters, automation on/off, window management and more.
Eleven illuminated RGB buttons allow plug-in slot selection, and 12 RGB-illuminated 360-degree fully rotatable potentiometers are instantly assigned to control the parameters of the hosted plug-in, whether it's a reverb, delay, compressor or any plug-in effect. The pots are arranged in a 4 x 3 grid and are therefore particularly suitable for controlling 4-band parametric EQ plug-ins. Thanks to the button under each column of 3 controls, the individual EQ bands can be conveniently switched on and off. A 'Fine' control increases the resolution of the control to 10 times the standard MIDI resolution so that very detailed control is possible.
All Logic Pro insert plug-ins as well as many third-party plug-ins (Waves, UAD, FabFilter etc.) are predefined for instant control. The mapping can be adjusted in the "learn" menu, which also allows the selection of RGB LED control colors for custom color coding. The in-house Nektarine software is available for programming more in-depth mappings. The names of the plug-in parameters and their values are shown on the TFT display with identical color coding of the RGB lighting of the controls. Initially, only Logic Pro 10.8 is supported; further DAW support is planned for the future.
