The Presonus Eris Pro 8 is an active studio monitor with coaxial drivers composed of an 8" woofer and a 1.25" tweeter. It has multiple connection options and various protection circuits that ensure uninterrupted operation. For example, the Eris Pro 8 has an output current limiter and voltage spike protection to prevent excessive power amp output or sudden signal spikes from damaging the speaker. It is also equipped with overheating protection. With the shielding against high-frequency interference and a subsonic filter, it also ensures that really only the frequency range demands power from the speaker, which should actually be heard musically.
The Eris Pro 8 speaker's point-like chassis arrangement largely eliminates delay differences between the high and bass drivers. This coaxial speaker design thus results in a significantly larger sweet spot and improved phasing between the tweeter and bass driver. The bass reflex port with front opening also increases the efficiency in the bass range, which benefits the balance of the sound over the entire frequency spectrum. To prevent cabinet resonance, the Eris Pro 8 is also equipped with optimized internal bracing, which increases the stability of the box, thus preventing unwanted vibrations in the cabinet.
The Eris Pro 8 monitor can be supplied with both balanced and unbalanced signals. For this purpose, an XLR input and a balanced 6.35mm jack connection, as well as an unbalanced RCA input (RCA) are available. To be as versatile as possible in the positioning in the room and to meet the sound preferences of the users, adjustments can be made on the back of the speaker in the bass, midrange and treble range. The three Acoustic Space options can also compensate for unwanted sound changes when positioned in front of a wall or in a corner. The volume of the individual speaker can also be conveniently adjusted via the gain control on the rear panel.
The Presonus Eris Pro 8 is suitable for various studio applications, both semi-professional and professional, and can be used here as desired for recording, mixing and mastering applications.
