With the DPS-2, RME offers an extremely low-noise and stable linear power supply, which was developed for the RME ADI-2 series but can also be used for other 12V hi-fi components.
If a device is to be connected to the DPS-2, there are two options: Output 1 is the linear output, a traditional DC output, but here equipped with multi-stage passive and active filters. The second output picks up the signal from the linear output and additionally processes it with RME's μFilter and sensor technology. These factors and the 60VA audio toroidal transformer ultimately ensure absolutely noise-, hum- and hiss-free operation.
The DPS-2 also has two multi-colored LEDs on the front panel that provide a quick overview of important operating states such as input and output voltage, overload, undervoltage and short circuit. A recessed pushbutton switch on the front of the device activates AutoDark mode, in which the LEDs only light up when the DPS-2 is switched on or when errors occur. The power supply unit also has an earthing screw so that other devices can be earthed.
