This guitar model gained fame thanks to the initiator of European jazz, Django Reinhardt, who caused a sensation in the early 20th century because his virtuoso technique was incomparable. In particular, due to the fact that an accident allowed him to use only two fingers of the left hand.
The Maccaferri design was distributed by Selmer and the RM-70-NT is the later version with the "petite bouche", the oval, smaller soundhole. Due to the body shape and the special bridge in combination with the tailpiece, the guitar produces a particularly powerful tone if you - like Django - act with a strong attack.
