The Austrian Audio MiCreator Satellite is a handy analog microphone for perfect recordings on the go. It can be used as a stand-alone microphoneor connected to the MiCreator Studioas an extension , making it possible to make stereo recordings. The acoustic properties of the MiCreator Satellite and MiCreator Studio are identical, which is why both devices can be set to the same quality for a two-channel recording. The device can also be optimally aligned to the sound source as the microphone head can be swiveled. The MiCreator Satellite has four rubber feet on the underside for a firm stand on a flat surface. If it is to be screwed onto a tripod instead, this can be done using a 3/8" or 5/8" thread (adapter included). It also offers good insulation against structure-borne noise thanks to a vibration-mounted capsule and can therefore also be used as a hand-held microphone. As the microphone has a cardioidpolar pattern, the sound hitting the microphone diaphragm from the rear is suppressed to the maximum and is therefore ideal for interview or instrumental recordings.
Functions
The MiCreator Satellite has no internal amplification, so the volume depends on the end device. The headphone amplification is also set appropriately on the end device. If the microphone is connected to the MiCreator Studio microphone via the MCC2 link cable, the MiCreator Studio provides the optimum amplification for the MiCreator Satellite. If this is the case, the headphone output of the MiCreator Studio is forwarded to the "out" socket of the MiCreator Satellite. If both microphones are used together, the optionally available "MCMB Minibar" is recommended, onto which the microphones can be screwed at the optimum distance from each other using the MCTA thread adapters. The scope of delivery also includes an exchangeable cover plate in red, which can be easily attached to the device using four magnets after removing the standard plate.
Establishing a connection between the MiCreator Satellite and the MiCreator Studio
Connections
The enclosed MCC2 link cable is used to connect the MiCreator Satellite to another device with a TRRS socket. This cable is used to transmit the microphone signal to the end device and to send the output from the end device to the headphone socket labeled "out" on the MiCreator Satellite. Headphones can then be connected to this socket, for example to hear other participants during a conference. Using a Y adapter (included in the scope of delivery), it is also possible to connect to a microphone socket on a device, such as a camera, if this can provide the necessary audio power supply.
