With the Epiphone Flying V Prophecy BlackAged Gloss, Epiphone combines the iconic 1958 V design with modern sounds and features. In addition to its dual humbucker lineup with custom Fishman Fluence Prophecy humbuckers and switchable voicings, the Flying V Prophecy offers resonant and road-ready hardware appointments in a uniform Brushed Nickel finish.
The Epiphone Flying V Prophecy combines the legendary design of 1958 with modern appointments.
The slight offset shaping of the asymmetrical Slim Taper neck promises first-class playing characteristics.
'58 Flying V with Flame Maple Veneer
The body design of the Prophecy Flying V follows the traditional shaping of the legendary 1958 Flying V and is composed of solid mahogany wood. The body is finished with an AAA-quality curly maple veneer, whose intense grain is a real visual treat. The mahogany neck with asymmetrical slim taper shaping, on the other hand, provides a classic feel. Its light offset shape offers the right thumb rest for bending and controlled playing on the 24-fret ebony fretboard.
Fishman Fluence Prophecy humbuckers with three voicings specifically tuned to the Prophecy series deliver diverse guitar tones.
Versatile Fishman Fluence Prophecy Humbucker
The groundbreaking Fishman Fluence design is also used in the Flying V Prophecy, taking the sonic possibilities of conventional humbuckers to a whole new level. Both pickups offer two different voicings, and can be used to create sought-after PAF sounds for classic rock and Blues, or in Modern Mode to create the taut and powerful sounds of modern metal. For those seeking additional clarity, the push/pull controls can be switched to Coil Split mode for airy and attack-rich single coil tones.
Grover Locking Rotomatic in brushed nickel finish keep the Prophecy Flying V securely and precisely in tune.
Solid LockTone Hardware and Grover tuners
For absolute adjustability of intonation and string action as well as direct resonance transfer into the body, Epiphone relies on a classic TOM/stopbar combination in the form of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge with a matching LockTone stopbar. In addition, the six Grover Rotomatic tuners on the headstock offer a backlocking function, making string changes extremely fast and ensuring reliable tuning stability from the first notes played thanks to fewer axle windings. All parts of the Flying V Prophecy come in a uniform brushed nickel finish.
Excellent design and craftmanship. I like to mod my guitars but this needs nothing done. Music Store had done a quick setup too, so everything was ready for a great playing experience right out of the box. Pickups have versatility, awesome hardware, good fretwork, and the overall feel is great.
