The EVANS Hydraulic Red B14HR, 14", Coated Snare head is a double layered snare head, which creates a deeper, shorter and more bass heavy sound between the two layers by means of an oil film, here in a smooth red finish. With the Hydraulic Red heads, the American manufacturer Evans already caused a sensation in the eighties. In 2016, the Hydraulic Red heads found their way back into the Evans range and provide the fat, deep and extremely short sounds that are still in demand in rock music today. The special feature of the Evans Hydraulic heads is a thin oil film inside the two plastic layers.
The Evans Hydraulic Red drum heads have special sound characteristics due to a special construction. Between the 7 mil thick layers of mylar there is a thin oil film. It makes the Evans Hydraulic Red heads extremely durable but it also makes the sound deep, short, fat and with incredible attack and low bass - inspired by the sound of the golden era of rock music in the 70s.
Evans Hydraulic heads are known to be quite easy to tune and ideal for unruly shells and drummers who are just beginning to learn drums and therefore have even less experience tuning drums. With these heads every set sounds deep and powerful!
