The Fender Alternate Reality Sixty-Six MN (Daphne Blue) is a 6-string electric guitar from the Alternate Reality series, and is a completely original design unlike any other Fender guitar. A Maple “Modern C” shape neck is embellished with a 9.5” radius Maple fingerboard, and has a fast response and familiar feel. The Sixty-Six combines vintage stylings with modern player technologies, and has a distinctive look which leaves it standing alone in the Fender range.
Paramount among the Sixty-Six’s unique properties are its pick-ups and their configuration. In neck and middle position a pair of Player Series Alnico 5 Tele Single-Coil pick-ups are chomping at the bit to unleash their spikey tones, whilst a fat Player Series Humbucker sits at the 6-saddle vintage-style synchronized tremolo bridge. The body of the Sixty-Six is a smaller version of the Jazz Bass body, which creates a look quite unlike any other guitar in Fender’s cannon. The control knobs are affixed to the body on a plate reminiscent of the plates found on Jaguars, albeit with a new twist. The Sixty-Six is a very individual and different electric guitar that still delivers the Fender quality and versatility that musicians have come to expect.
