The Fender SCE 6-string dreadnought electro acoustic guitar in Surf Green takes its place in the California series of acoustic guitars and takes its styling cues from the brands SoCal vibe and history.
The Sonoran SCE features a cutaway dreadnought body shape with a highly resonant solid spruce top and accompanying mahogany back and sides. Joining the body is a C-shaped maple neck, complete with a body colour painted Stratocaster headstock, and a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard.
To accompany the body, the Fender Sonoran SCE comes equipped with a Fishmann Isys III pickup system with an active three-band preamp and on-board chromatic tuner. Finishing everything off is a rosewood vintage-style Viking bridge with compensated bone saddle, a three-ply white pearloid pickguard and chrome vintage-style tuners with aged white plastic buttons.

Well, It was my first expensive instrument (ive played on my Adaws W-42 six years), and after checking local prices and surfing MusicStore I decided to buy Fender Sonoran SCE, and it was actually a great decision! Guitar was shipped properly (with a Musicstore guitar case Ive also ordered - shipped in single box, but separately), looking great and sounds smooth and bright (definately not like a cheap box). Fishman tuner also working great, but even if you tune your instument by ear, you can check it pre-amp settings, which is pretty good too. Conclusion: Absolutely worth buying if you want to get your first serious guitar and take your music on a new level.

I got this guitar as a present, five years ago. It was the first brand new instrument I ever got, actually.
The guitar is correctly manufactured. It came with bronze wires on it. The volume and the quality of sound is good. The sound is rich in low, middle and treble register. It is loud enough, thanks to it's big body. The big body can be a bit of a problem until you don't get used to it.
The neck is the standard Stratocaster type, I guess. I like it better than flat, classic Spanish guitar necks. It is easier to grab chords and play a few notes of a solo if you wish. The cutaway comes handy if wish you play high tones. When it comes to aesthetic part, I never liked the idea of putting a neck from electric guitar onto an acoustic guitar body. It doesn't look good, but is more comfortable for playing.
The Fishman pre-amp with tuner and equaliser is quite handy. When you plug this guitar into an amplifier, the sound is nice, yet powerful. It can be all right for small gigs. There is only one thing I don't like about this specific electronic circuit: noise gate is a bit crude.
My conclusion: Fender Sonoran is a really good choice if you are going to play and sing with your friends, by the camp fire, on the beach, at parties...
