With the Fieldfare Audio Antares Overdrive, the pedal manufacturer from the Rhineland is targeting guitarists looking for a low to mid-gain overdrive with a generous dynamic range. For this purpose, the Antares has an internal operating voltage of 18 volts, which gives the gain behavior of the pedal additional headroom. In contrast to many conventional overdrives, the Antares offers a 2-band equalizer for precise adjustment of the bass and treble reproduction and an additional fat/clear switch, which increases the bass component for wide-ranging leads if required. An additional highlight is the relay-based intelligent true bypass. In addition to the practical "Momentary" function, this offers the option of programming the switching state of the pedal, making it particularly easy to integrate into loop switcher systems.
