The 29“ (737mm) short scale and the exceptional price/performance ratio makes the Jack&Danny JB mini the perfect instrument for beginners as well as more advanced musicians on the search for great playability.
Based on the designs of world famous Calilfornian classics, the Jack&Danny JB mini impresses in all kinds of genres and venues. Together both single-coil pickups cover a wide spectrum. The neck pickup provides fat rock sounds, delivers wild tone blends but also authentic Reggae sound, while the bridge pickup ensures for great assertiveness with modern brilliance. Both pickups combine their powers to create countless sounds from Jazz to Slap-Attack. The short scale and the C profile of the small neck guarantees very comfortable playability of this bass, perfect for children and people with small hands.
The solid alder body is not always standard in this price class and gives the Jack&Danny JB Mini, together with the bolt-on maple neck, a flexible attack with consistent sustain.
Virtually indestructible Vintage style hardware includes the classic bridge and traditional open machine head tuners, rounding off the image of the Jack&Danny JB mini.
For the price this is a no brainer - great little bass! Especially if you want something small to take around easily, or as a second bass.
The build and sound quality obviously isn't what you'd get for a £350+ bass but you could easily do some upgrades to this and get it there for a smaller total. It's the best short scale at this budget for sure.
If you're thinking about getting this bass, get it. You won't regret it because it does what it says on the tin, looks good and is really fun to play, all for less than £100.
Not a toy, its a real instrument. Funny little piece! Good quality for good price. Cant really compare sound to a full size bass due to the facts of a smaller body, neck and scale but its convenient and fun.
It was about time that someone made a short scale jazz bass for a reasonable price. This little bass is incredibly comfortable and really well made. The frets could be dressed better but nothing serious. The hardware is a bit on the flimsy side but I'll replace it, same thing for the pickups. It's a great platform for modifications. For the price, highly recommended.
This is a proper feeling, sounding bass which is so much better than you think it’s going to be. The controls are sturdy, the action is fine and it’s the perfect size for my 11 year old son.
Sounds better than I expected. No sharp fret edges, sounds really good for the size, hot pickups. I lowered the action on it and the pickups and is a lot better than it was when I received it. I would definitly reccomend it :-)
