The Kenton MIDI THRU 5 1 in 5 MIDI Thru Box is a high quality thru box with opto-isolated MIDI In and separate drive for each MIDI Out. This neat and sturdy box receives MIDI data from a single MIDI OUT (e.g. sequencer or master keyboard) and produces identical copies at the 5 MIDI THRU sockets. These can then be connected to the MIDI INs of sound modules or other devices which require MIDI signals sent to them.
The only thing you need to do is connect the transformer and midi cables and this box can syncronize five equipements with MTC (midi time code, drum machines, arppegiator and so on).You can have an equipment working as Master that is connected to midi IN- KENTON 5 - and automaticaly you have five OUTS with the same midi time code or the same BPM-beats per minute- but this box transmits also all midi events that your Master generates so we have 16 midi channels*5=80 midi channels is very powerfull. The price and quality of constrution is very good, only the tranformer cable is a little weak and short but does the job well.
Allows me to clock all my Midi gear from my Elektron MD-SPS1 - Everything stays in sync and starts/stops from the MachineDrum, which is exactly what is needed for a DAW-less setup.
Very well constructed, hard metal box and very resistent, odes the job pretty well and no conflits with midi devices and the litte box you con put everywere because is to small.
