The Pageflip Firefly Bluetooth/USB pedal is available for flipping digital content such as sheet music, pages or images on PC, Mac, iPad or Android tablet. It can be connected via USB cable or wirelessly via Bluetooth. By simply tapping the two pedals, digital content can now be turned or scrolled back and forth hands-free. Unlike the smaller version, the Firefly features illuminated, programmable pedals, independently programmed external pedal ports, an increased wait time to 30 minutes before activating sleep mode when inactive, wireless operation or alternative connection via USB cable, a more ergonomic design, and a heavier weight for a better stand.
As a user, you can choose between five modes for right and left pedal:
Unlike the other model, the five preset modes can be reprogrammed so that each pedal can now transmit any keystroke or hotkey function.
The Pageflip Firefly is ideal for musicians who always want their hands free to play, rather than having to deal with the hassle of turning over notes. It's also ideal for people with physical limitations. It's easier to tap a pedal instead of trying to catch individual pages of a book or regular magazine. Convenient mode buttons maximize versatility for use with different software and apps. Browse and navigate through digital sheet music, eBooks, PDF files, Word, PowerPoint, web pages, or image collections with the Firefly.
It does the job of turning pages with your foot, and it uses AA batteries which to me is a big advantage over a rechargeable battery. Bluetooth connection seems very reliable - I have had no issues.
