The Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX10 expands Pioneer DJ’s FLX series with a powerful and professional 4-channel DJ controller. This model combines the features of the popular DDJ-1000 and DDJ-1000-SRT controllers, effectively replacing both. With the DDJ-FLX10, the rekordbox DJ software, activated via hardware unlock, gains an innovative feature called “Track Separation”. This functionality allows users to isolate drums, vocals, and instruments in any track, control them in real time, and apply BeatFX or Sound Colour FX to individual elements. The 8-inch jog wheels, enhanced with improved on-jog displays, provide DJs with comprehensive control and all essential information at a glance—eliminating the need to constantly look at the computer screen. For creative expression, the controller offers 14 BeatFX, with timing that can be precisely adjusted via two dedicated buttons, as well as 6 Sound Colour FX, allowing DJ sets to be personalised with a unique touch. The mixer section of the DDJ-FLX10 delivers all the features DJs expect from standalone club mixers. Moreover, the BeatFX and Sound Colour FX can also be used with up to four analogue devices, such as turntables, CD players, or media players, without requiring a computer. Another standout feature is the integrated DMX interface, which enables the creation of customised light shows when paired with rekordbox and DMX-compatible lighting effects.
The Track Separation option is an innovative tool. This function, if the option has been activated, already creates a version from each track during the analysis, where vocals, drums and instruments can be isolated with the push of a button on the DDJ-FLX10 panel. This makes it possible to mix individual parts with elements from other tracks. An effect from the Beat FX or Sound Color FX range can be applied to each of these three tracks, opening up completely new possibilities.
The "Mix Point Link" option makes it possible to link different tracks together via cue points at certain points so that the next song plays at a predefined position. This is certainly not intended to help DJs automate their mixes, but it can be quite useful when DJs want to focus on other processes in the DJ booth. How the whole thing works can be controlled and observed on the on-jog displays.
The high-resolution on-jog displays integrated into the 8-inch jog wheels prevent DJs from having to constantly look at their laptops to find out the current status of the track being played. Thanks to the four switchable modes, this is a thing of the past, because all essential information about the current track can be easily read on the on-jog display with a few clicks, allowing DJs to concentrate much better on their performance.
The Pioneer DJ - DDJ-FLX10 offers an integrated DMX connection, located on the back of the controller, which allows DMX-compatible light effects to be controlled or specially tuned light shows to be created via rekordbox DJ and played back as required. If this is not desired, there is also an automatic mode that controls movements and colours independently.
The DDJ-FLX10 is a hardware unlock controller. This means that the DDJ-FLX10 is recognised by the respective software and activates the Pro mode of rekordbox or Serato DJ Pro as soon as the programme is started on the computer and the DDJ-FLX10 is connected to the computer. However, optional packages such as DVS or additional effects are chargeable!
