The Bard Quartet by Shakmat Modular is a quantizer with four inputs and outputs. Thanks to precise 16-bit converters, accurate scaling over ten octaves are no problem. Each of the four channels can have its own scale and can be micro-tuned if needed. In addition, before or after the quantizer function, the pitch can be shifted +/- three octaves. The highlight of the module is the so-called Harmony feature, which allows switching stored harmonies containing scales, octave shifts and input/output assignments via knob or CV. Various settings for the four channels can be stored in 80 memory locations. The functionality is rounded off with an editable arpeggiator per channel; five playback modes with a range of 1-4 octaves create something like polyphonic note progressions in a system with at least two oscillators.
