The Tiptop Audio SD909 module is a clone of the legendary snare drum and the TR-909 noise generator for modular synthesizers in Eurorack format. The sound of the SD909 is generated by two binary noise generators and two modulated triangle oscillators, which are voltage-controlled. Only in combination of the two components the rich sound and the wide sound spectrum of the TR-909 snare drum is achieved. As in the other Tiptop Audio drum modules, the SD909 has a built-in dual input pulse shaper circuit.
Broad sound spectrum
The voltage control of the noise generator and oscillators allows the SD909 module to produce far more sounds than the original. And the high power gain circuit integrated in the SD909 module allows you to exploit both the original sound palette and post-processed sounds with sharp attacks and clippings.
Dual input pulse shaper circuit
The Dual Input Pulse Shaper circuit enables the triggering of sounds via conventional trigger/gate signals from sequencers, clock dividers, or other pulse/clock sources without having to calibrate the levels of the trigger pulses in advance. This makes it possible to elicit consistently powerful sounds from the module, independent of the trigger signal.
