The Ape Labs ApeCoin - Set or 4 is a universal LED module for many applications. Inside is a 15 Watt RGBW LED (white: 6700K). The ApeCoin is powered by USB voltage 5V and is therefore universally applicable, no matter whether by power bank or USB power supply.
The ring on the top can be opened by a few turns and different LED optics respectively lenses can be used. Regularly the 50° Effetk optic is mounted, a 160° frost filter is included. The electronics inside are potted and penetrating water cannot cause any damage. Thus, the ApeCoin can also be used outdoors.
You can control the fixture with the Ape Labs wireless remote, wireless DMX with the W-APP or the W-APE. In addition, each lamp amplifies the signal it receives, so you don't have to worry if you place the lamps far away from each other. Like all Ape Labs lights, the ApeCoin has a music mode that controls the fixture to
There is a strong magnet built into the bottom of the unit as well as an M6 thread available for multiple uses.
These are great little remote control lights. They weigh almost nothing, they're small and discreet yet have a great light output. The light is not harsh or blinding to look at, and can make lots of colour combinations.
The remote is RF controlled, so you don't have to point it at the lights for it to work, and the distance it works is huge. The sound mode on these is also superior to other sound modes. They react to bass notes, mid notes and high notes, so you can get a great light show from just playing the songs, rather than a predictable change on the bass notes like you get with other lights.
If I had any complaints about these lights, I would say that I wish they did not have the short USB cable coming out of them, I would have much preferred a USB port instead. The white cables provided are good quality but black would have been better and more discreet.
These are magnetic too, and the magnets are the real deal, very strong. I have one stuck to the bottom of by keyboard stand to light up the floor around me when I play. I'll definitely be getting more of these, and the bonus is that the same remote works on all Ape Labs stuff, so whenever I eventually get some of their bigger lights, I won't have to worry about compatibility.
