The Art & Lutherie AMI Steel 6-String Acoustic Guitar Antique Burst is modelled after the dimensions of the parlour guitars of the early 1900's. Small but with excellent tone and projection, the Ami is clear and pronounced, making it a great guitar for acoustic blues, slide, folk, fingerstyle or just to simply bring a different tonal colour.
The compact size makes the Ami extremely comfortable to play and very easy to carry around. Made in Canada.

I read some comments on the internet about people concerned that the Ami was lacking in bass. The only moment in which I thought it, was the first time I strummed a chord, but at that moment I never played a parlor before, the strings were brand new and what I got was a very brilliant sound with a lot of overtones but very little bass. In one day or so I started to adapt my playing style to this guitar and I discovered a new world of possibilities. Yes its brilliant, but there are plenty of bass if you know how to hit the strings (try with fingers, try holding the pick more firmly, try with a 1mm or more pick). Now my opinion about the Ami is that it is simply a very well balanced instrument with a lot of tonal possibilities that will reveal if bad players are in the room and give a lot of satisfaction to good ones.
Also for those concerned about not being loud enough I ensure you that the volume is there, it resonates and sustains very well, but its basically an intimate instrument, more suitable for composing, for recording or for home use than for loud gigs. The size of the body is smaller than a regular guitar but you never feel that youre holding a toy and the neck is sized like a regular one. The guitar is very well built from what I see, feels solid, with a good weight, although the cedar is a soft wood and will eventually get some dings if you pick very hard it also smells very nicely. I am very satisfied with the purchase, thanks to its comfortable size and playability I rediscovered the fun of playing guitar with this instrument and I will recommend it both to beginners and to professionals as well.
You know, when I got this Ami one week ago I instantly knew this was the best guitar I had ever had in my life. Nice feel, small size, suitable not only for me but although for my children who liked it a lot. I am not a pro guitar player but somehow this Ami makes my heart go faster when I play it. And let me tell you a small secret - if you take the guitar just for a minute you don't want to let it go for an hour.
