Lowpass filter from Eowave

The Magnetosphere Mk2 from EoWave is more of a new development than simply a successful update of the previous version, which was twice as wide. What has remained is the excellent, super-fat basic sound of the resonant 24 dB Lowpass filter, which is due to the consistently implemented transistor circuit. At higher levels, the audio input tends to saturate the input signal, especially waveforms with a straight edge such as sawtooth and square benefit greatly from this. If there is no cable in the audio input, a noise generator is normalized to the input, allowing the module to be used as an independent signal source and eg. HiHat sounds. The last element in the signal path is a transistor VCA, which is connected downstream of the filter. However, the VCA is only active when a cable is plugged into the input. There are three inputs for modulating the filter: V/Oct provides classic keytracking, Reson is reserved for the resonance parameter and MOD has a special position. In the X position, the socket accepts CV signals (e.g. LFO or ADSR envelope). In the STRIKE position, the socket expects a Gate or trigger signal to trigger the vactrol-style Decay envelope. Vactrols have a rather slow response time and are therefore suitable as percussive mini envelopes even without additional controls. All in all, the Magnetosphere Mk2 is a very good-sounding filter with a rich Vintage-Sound and a few extras that qualify it as a backend module in smaller setups or patches and for various percussion sounds.
