Epiphone Inspired by Gibson

This replica of the famous 1958 Korina Flying V Lefthand is the result of a collaboration between the Gibson Custom Shop and Epiphone. It is a historically accurate version with Mallory capacitors, Gibson burstbucker pickups and an Aged gloss finish. The model has achieved an absolute cult status through guitarists like Dave Davies (The Kinks) and their rarity in the last 60 years. Thanks to the Epiphone x Gibson Custom Shop reissue, this impressive Korina wood axe can now be played by modern fans of rock history and vintage sound. Both body and set neck are made of the typical Korina wood and finished with an Aged Gloss Finish, which highlights the individual grain of each Flying V from this series. Furthermore, the electric guitar is equipped with Epiphone x Gibson hardware and delivers a distinctive sound through its historic electronics with gold Hardware.

Traditional body

The 1958 Korina Flying V was considered too modern and futuristic after its initial release but offers a special vintage feel these days. Epiphone has stayed true to the original specifications of the Gibson model, with a glued neck, Indian Laurel fingerboard and 22 medium Jumbo frets, providing an authentic neck profile for comfortable playing characteristics. The white pickguard and Aged Gloss finish give the Flying V the final touch with a lot of personality.

In particular, the details make the Flying V an exceptionally striking electric guitar

Gibson Burstbucker II and III

For the equipment and Hardware of the 1958 Korina Flying V from Epiphone paid attention to qualitative high quality. In the neck and bridge position sit two burstbuckers, directly from Gibson, which reproduce with Alnico-2 magnets a warm sound with rich overtones in the style of the original Gibson PAF pickups. Both pickups are controlled by high-quality CTS potentiometers with real Mallory capacitors with Switchcraft output jack. However, the burstbuckers are particularly well suited for overdrive sounds with a strong character of their own for rock, blues, metal and everything in between.

Gold Hardware and fittings

Brass Hardware with gold alloy accentuates the 1958 Kona Flying V true to the original, with a Gibson ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and Epiphone Deluxe tuners, which along with the Flying V tailpiece provide robust tone and improved Sustain. Through two stylish black-top hat Volume and Master Tone knobs and 3-way switches, their sound can be further adjusted and personalized. Completing the features of the Korina Flying V is an Epiphone x Gibson Custom Shop logo and padded guitar case in the original 1958 design.
