While top, back and sides of the classic Thinline body are made of a five-ply maple-poplar laminate, the glued "Slim Taper" mahogany neck offers superb playability up to the high end of the ebony fingerboard. Two Epiphone ProBucker FB720 mini humbuckers deliver lively vintage sounds with a brilliant treble spectrum and the woody timbre of the semi-acoustic construction. Separate volume controls for each pickup, master volume and master tone allow the player to create a wide array of tones. The strings are guided by a LockTone Tune-O-Matic bridge on the body of the Epiphone Uptown KAT ES Sapphire Blue Metallic from the trapeze tailpiece to the Grover Rotomatic tuners on the headstock ensuring precise and stable tuning.
