Compact distortion pedal with Vintage and Turbo modes
Classic vintage sounds and modern distortion are the specialty of the Fame Feinguss Distortion. This pedal offers two different distortion modes, Vintage and Turbo, in a space-saving compact format. The first mode provides warm and smooth distortion sounds for Rock and Blues, whereas the Turbo mode with its additional output and powerful distortion aims at modern Metal sounds. Furthermore, the Feinguss Distortion can be tweaked in terms of output level, distortion and tone color using the three controls for Level, Distortion and Filter to suit any application.
I didn't expect much for £20, but this has so far impressed.
It's based on the ProCo Rat, but doesn't seem to have the infamous fuzzy breakup on when the distortion is dimed. To my ears this sounds more like a DS-1.
Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the tone and low-noise for the price.
Solid option for the budget-conscious shopper.
