The Focusrite Clarett+ OctoPre is a premium 8-channel microphone preamp and converter. It is designed for the expansion of ADAT-enabled audio interfaces and meets even the highest demands for transmission quality and signal fidelity. A special feature of the Clarett+ OctoPre is the well-known Air function: Here the sound is given a nobler, more present character with a gentle treble boost in a purely analogue way. The Focusrite Air circuitry is based on the sound of the classic ISA preamp used in Focusrite's large studio consoles. With the push of a button, acoustic instruments and vocals in particular benefit from the special sound of this function.

Suitable for any recording setup

The Clarett+ OctoPre is not only a great way to expand audio interfaces, but also an excellent choice for existing recording environments: The pre-amplified signal can be output directly at line level via Dsub - perfect, then, when 8 channels of best pre-amplification but no converters are needed. On the other hand, thanks to 8 line inputs, it is also possible to use the unit as a pure ADAT converter if Preamps is already available. The word clock pair allows the safe integration of the converter into even more extensive digital setups. 8 channels of digital-to-analogue conversion additionally allow the monitoring or setup of monitor mixes respectively the integration of an analogue mixer into the studio environment. Due to the high quality of the Preamps and converters, the Clarett+ OctoPre is a serious competitor for even more expensive devices.

Sophisticated design consistently implemented

Focusrite's Clarett preamp design, which has already been successful for years, has been revised once again for the Clarett+ series: Lower noise levels, extremely linear transfer characteristics and impressive signal fidelity give your recordings clarity, detail, and - probably most importantly - yourself the freedom to realize your sonic vision. Insert points for each channel also allow you to loop in external devices such as compressors and EQs directly during recording. For the lossless recording of guitar and Bass, 2 JFET instrument inputs are available. Their high impedance and sophisticated circuit design guarantee natural, detailed recordings with linear frequency response and fully intact transients - the optimal prerequisite for re-amping or working with amp plug-ins in the DAW.
