The Genelec 8010A is a professional studio monitor with a 3” woofer and a ¾” tweeter. It’s extremely compact design make them ideal for mobile and home studio setups alike. Don’t be fooled by their size though, they still pack a serious punch for such a tiny speaker!
The woofer and tweeter are powered by two Class D 25 Watt amplifiers and combined with the balanced XLR inputs, the 8010A produces a high quality, clean high SPL output, perfect for creating on the move.
The 8010A also features Genelec Intellifent Signal Sensing (ISS) which powers down the monitor into stand by mode when no audio signal is detected. There are several mounting accessories that come with the 8010A to allow for easy installation across various different environments.
I could not believe the amount of SPL this unit was capable of producing.
If you dont know about it and you hear it first time at full range you are going to instinctively look around for other larger monitors that might emmit such high volumes.
Sound clear as crystal and built quality at its best, delivered by a wonderful company.
I could write much more about how much i love them, but i will end this with the only small issue, something noted by others too, i believe : the audio cable sits at its limit when the monitor is placed on desk because of the extremely small size of the monitor, it kind of leans itself to the desk but not too much to worry about it.
Im in love with my 8010s.
Bought these in combination with the Genelec 7040 sub.
They sound huge when combined with the sub and they couple nicely.
The sound is flat as tacks its perfect for laying bare every bit of ugliness in your mix.
I own a pair of Adam A7s and the sound is way too exciting to mix properly with so this is a welcome change.
super pro. before i had yamaha hs80 + h8s sub very good but this is better speakers sound like 8's bass incredible ......;)
I fell in love with the sound of Genelec years ago. Theyw ere always too expensive but the 8010 is achievable, so i got 1 monitor (will get the other in a couple of months). I was so excited to be getting this jewel. However, i played my Yahama stage piano through the monitor and it sounds tinny. The whole point of getting the 8010 was to keep my bedroom studio minimalist and small, so i didn't want to buy a sub woofer. I don't like big bass sounds, but i do like a good round sound and i feel that there is absolutely no bottom end on the monitor. I might be early days to judge as i am waiting to hear from the Genelec team on tips to change settings to improve its sound based on my room's acoustics.
The size and wattage are great and they are sturdy, which is quality. Lets wait and see...
