The Gibson Les Paul Futura 2014 6-String Electric Guitar Inverness Green Vintage Gloss follows on from the Future Tribute model from the 2013 range to combine the classic design of the Les Paul with some more modern appointments. The Gibson Les Paul Futura features Gibson’s Modern Weight Relief body, made of mahogany, with a plain maple top. The maple neck is cut with a ‘60s SlimTaper profile and is topped by a rosewood fingerboard displaying a 120th anniversary banner inlay at the 12th fret.
The Les Paul Futura offers a P-90H Sidewinder humbucker at the neck and a BurstBucker 3 humbucker pickup at the bridge. This setup allows the P-90H to bring out the brightness in the lower frequencies whilst the BurstBucker 3 adds more grit to the higher frequencies. The inclusion of push/pull coil taps splits the humbuckers into single-coils, adding even more tonal variety. The pickups are controlled by dedicated Volume controls, a shared Tone control and a 15dB Boost control.
The Futura is fitted with the Min-ETune system, which automatically tunes the strings of the guitar in almost any tuning you desire. This guitar is completed with a black Graph Tech nut, chrome Tune-O-Matic bridge and Max Grip speed knobs. The Futura comes with a black hardshell case.

Beautiful looking guitar with great sound. The price was excellent and very competetive. However, the fretting at the bottom end is protruding slightly whereby as I change chords by moving my left hand across the fret-neck, I feel my inner finger touching the fret bars as if they needed grinding to stop cutting into my inner part of my fingers. Nothwithstanding that, it is a great guitar with Min-E-Tune system that gives me the ease of tuning this electric guitar, as I am not a MARK KNOPFLER or ERIC CLAPTON when it comes to tuning a guitar on stage. lol.
