The Hanika 54 PF mid-range model is a fully solid 4/4 classical guitar crafted by the German heritage brand under Armin Hanika. Known for its balanced and full-bodied sound, the 54 PF impresses with clean craftsmanship and high-quality materials. The solid spruce top and East Indian rosewood body produce a responsive tone, with powerful bass and well-defined mids and trebles. The cedar neck, featuring a D-1 profile and an ebony fretboard, ensures smooth playability across all 20 frets, with a nut width of 52 mm providing ample room for complex fingerings. Golden Rubner-R2 tuners allow precise tuning of the six nylon strings that end at a rosewood bridge, while a mahogany binding and intricate Z2 Makassar soundhole rosette lend the instrument a refined look. A durable Hanika case is included with the 54 PF mid-range model.
1.) Looks Amazing, love the natural look/finish Hanika implement. Rosette is very pretty.
2.) Competitive price. The Spruce is very nice for its price point and sounds good right out of the box, which is always a good sign.
3.) The Handling/Feel of the guitar is well balanced. Im use to a thinner neck and a cut-away but found myself easily adjusting to Hanikas more classical approach.
4.) The sound at first was a little off, the High E and B strings didnt quite ring out properly and had me a bit worried. But after changing the strings out to "Agustine Classic Blue High Tension" I found those issues disappeared. I dont know if it was the strings Hanika use or just an issue with the way they were strung, but needless to say I was relieved that it wasnt a structural issue. - Personally I would suggest replacing the strings anyway, for me they are just a bit to thick.
5.) As for Features, you get what you see. No preamp/pick-up and no cutaway. But these arent essential to a good classical guitar, and Hanika have various models similar to this with those features as standard.
-This guitar also came with a Hanika soft-case.
Additional Notes:
-Shipping was very nice, well packaged and probably secure enough to survive a nuclear winter. Also being from New Zealand, Global Shipping seems to be no issue for MusicStore.
-Hanikas workshop offers customized modifications to existing models, so you can have it set up the way you want at a very affordable price. As Im not sure whether MusicStore accommodates these specialized orders I went for their standard model and have no regrets.
