Korg Volca Kick is an analog kick generator for highly creative sound design. Its analog circuitry is based on the powerful resonant sound of the original MS-20 filter and produces a wide range of unique kick sounds, from massive kick drums to crunchy kick basses. With the volca 16-step sequencer's new Touch FX feature, you can now control effects instantly and add even more dynamics to your live performances. Plug-ins or samples are far surpassed by the power of an analog kick drum. With its compact dimensions, battery operation and integrated speakers, Volca Kick is also an inspiring and musical companion on the road, offering a lot of fun.
Powerful analog kick synth for kick drums and kick basses
The assertive analog kick sounds are created by the concise filter oscillation of the MS-20 filter. The fast envelopes allow an exact adjustment of the desired sound which ranges from soft 808-like bass drums to aggressive harcore bass drums. But also tonally playable basses with amazing foundation and high assertiveness can be realized with Volca Kick with ease, which can be played specifically via the chromatic keyboard. The basic character of a sound rather soft, or very aggressive, can be adjusted with the DRIVE and TONE sound controls.
Creative patterns with the Volca sequencer
With the inspiring Volca 16-step sequencer, parameters of a sequence can be automated intuitively and with easy workflow:
ACTIVE STEP creates new beats and basslines by removing/inserting steps
ACCENT, SLIDE and BEND REVERSE refine any sequence
TOUCH FX controls realtime sequence effects with cuts, breaks and fills
Sequences can be synchronized via the Sync input, or via MIDI to other devices

There's nothing quite like an analogue kick. Many reviews focus on the massive kicks and sub bass this thing can produce but I love it for the warm round "knocks" it can generate. Reminds me of the bass drum on more pricey analogue drum machines like the mfb tanzbär. I sequence it over midi using my Model cycles and it's instantly become an essential part of my set up.
