The Neumann KMR 81 i shotgun microphone is designed primarily for film and broadcast applications and is ideally suited for film dialogue, both at Studio and in the field. Due to its lightweight with a favourable centre of gravity, it can be held effortlessly for extended periods of time. Low power consumption and low wind and body noise sensitivity make it the perfect shotgun for field recording. Thanks to its natural sound image and low sound distortion outside the recording axis, it is also suitable as a problem solver for critical recording situations, e.g. when a soloist is to be picked up in front of the orchestra.
