PSI's active AVAA C20 absorber is designed to prevent and absorb room modes between 15 and 150 Hz. It works similar to passive absorbers, but much more efficient and space-saving. Each activated AVAA has the same effect as a hole in the wall that is much larger than the dimensions of the absorber. The exact ratio depends on the frequency and the environment, but is typically between 5 and 20. AVAA affects the impedance of the air and "sucks" low frequencies around it. Therefore, the best position for placing an AVAA is in the corners, where all room fashions are most strongly represented.
It is important to work on the positioning of speakers and listeners, as the AVAA has no effect on unavoidable initial reflections.
PSI AVAA C20 Overview:
The AVAA absorbs room modes between 15 and 150 Hz.
100% ANALOG, no DSP, no latency time
Effective as a perfect absorber up to 25 times its size
No calibration or adjustment is required.
No sound radiation and no change in the sound source
2 AVAAs will make a big difference in normal sized studios.
Works in any type of room: recording, mixing, mastering, listening.....
