The use of plywood for the body ensures that the Pearl Cajon Music Store Special Edition is great looking as well as sounding in order to breathe new life into the world of Cajons. The body with a wall thickness of 12mm produces an assertive and powerful sound which, together with its high volume, is able to set this instrument apart from other Cajons.
The snare system consists of 2 snares with 20 steel wires each, which are mounted to the interior of the Cajon resting on the playing surface. The bolted-on playing surface allows for fine adjustments to the sound, it can also be replaced completely. The body is finished with a clear lacquer, leaving the abstract grain of the plywood visible. The playing surface is constructed from Asian Mahogany and perfectly compliments the body.
The combination of a plywood body and the mahogany surface gives the Pearl Music Store Cajon a very powerful, dirty and rocky sound character, and through its high volume is able to be assertive in any setup.
