Given the size of the pocket operators, the sound quality is surprisingly good. Also, they have lots of features, but the controls are still very simple. All in all, it makes them excellent affordable and portable synth. It is probably not going to replace the real deal in the studio, but when travelling, it is just perfect. Having several POs in a set is also a good way to expand the possibilities and might be necessary, depending on what your use is going to be. PO 12 (Rhythm) and PO 20 (Arcade) are both more oriented towards beat making. Therefore, you will want to add some more melodies to it with external hardware, once you get the hang of it. With the PO 33, however, you could make a whole track, so it feels less limited.
